Ars Acustica celebrates ART’s birthday using Luci Live

In 1963 the French Fluxus artist, Robert Filliou, declared January 17 to be the 1,000,000th birthday of art which for some decades now has been celebrated worldwide. As in the previous years, in 2009 artists all over the world will organise a networked birthday party for art. This year’s celebration was “Safe and Sound”. Via ISDN-lines and/or the Internet contributions are collected at two points, in Vienna (ORF) and Stockholm (SR), where they are sent to the two EBU satellite channels Ravel (R) and Verdi (V). Both satellite channels (R and V) offer “ready-to-broadcast” materials along with signature-tunes and broadcast-identifications. Ward Weis of VRT Belgium : “Antwerp and Vienna were connected for 4 hours via LUCI Live2. It has been the first time that we used this possibility of transmission. There was a stable and good connection in best quality with Audio-over-IP. “
